About Me

你好 Hello,

你好 Hello,

Hello,

Thank you for stopping by my website, and I invite you to read the words below.

My name is Liu Jinxin, a bilingual filmmaker. In early 2025, I graduated from a film program in New York. Today, I focus on cinematography and documentary work.

I’d rather say that I once lived in New York than which school I attended — because my personality, values, professional skills, and sense of society were shaped by the environment, not by dull classrooms. I hated New York: it was filthy, chaotic, consumed by materialism, and deeply divided by class. But that hatred pushed me to observe the city’s complexity more sharply, even if the process was painful. During those years in New York, I kept shooting, kept going out, kept engaging with people. The camera became my way of understanding the world.

Now I’ve returned to Shenzhen, the city where I spent more than a decade of my life, and where I plan to settle. I want to bring my filmmaking skills together with an international perspective to find work here.

“Bilingual filmmaker” is just a societal label. Many people could claim it. But behind every label, each person is unique. I hope my own sense of “unique” can serve your needs in a way no one else can. Hiring and job-seeking is always a two-way choice, and I hope to meet people whose vision resonates with mine.

There’s much more I’d like to say, but I suspect that if I go on too long, a time-conscious visitor like you will simply close this page. Still, I hope there will be a chance for you to get to know me more deeply — not only my work, but the person behind it.
